Then I met Martijn, my supervisor and also CEO of skylines, also at the airport who led me through the train station maze.
The rest of the day was quite normal, I had time to see a bit around the city while looking for the office or for some lunch in that city. It s quite crowded actually with all the stream of visitors in the summer. You can hear ppl speaking almost every language in each street in the center of the city. Dutch people are not the ones you notice first actually, they are mainly quiet compared to all the tourists looking for shops and bars.
The office is a wide room of 50 to 60sq m with two desks against one of the walls. The company is run by Martijn who s kind of the CEO, CTO, CeverythingO; Maarten who s more of a COO and Michael who has more skills in business. They have several programmers in different parts of the world. However, I have met some of them, like the android and the front-end devs.
Anyway that place seems to be actually starting up smoothly and effectively. Way to go !
I am currently staying at the Angeline Hotelboot for 3 nights but I have already found a flat in a short stay housing company. I will be checking in my new flat the day after tomorrow. I had time to see a bit outside the centrum area when looking for my room. And the least I can say is that Amsterdam is wide ! I went to the flat before going to the office to get the key and I could measure the distance between south and south east areas ^^
There are several things that Martijn wants me to put my nose in for the internship. Everything seems quite interesting so I wont have any issue getting motivated for the work for this summer !
Cheers
